The campaign ReDefeat Bush is still alive. More than one year after president's election with winner Barack Obama there are still enough events and reasons to have an opposite opinion of matters which are not on the right way in our land. First, the Iraq war still has not yet ended. More areas where terrorism finds its supporters can involve American citizens will the government feel responsible to act there?
Such a campaign is also a good basis for some other themes which are more actual. The US Government has introduced health insurance for many of our citizens. We from the old Democratic Party have to assist our government. But we also have to avoid unnecessary burdens for this system. Some treatment should be privately paid. Cosmetic operations as for example breast augmentation (in German Brustvergroesserung) or liposuction should not be paid by the insurance. It is a private matter whether a person looks more or less beautiful. Therefore no money should be spent on breast augmentation by the new Insurance. In Germany also for Brustvergroesserung there is no insurance.
Nobody should say we are against breast augmentation or Brustvergroesserung. When a man runs and runs for our ideas, and his muscles become big and bigger – such breast augmentation is sound and very welcome to Americans as well as such Brustvergroesserung may be important for Germans.
But back to the roots of our campaign ReDefeat Bush. We were successful. Our part is fulfilled with the election of Barack Obama, and this should be our aim for the future: to save our force for the health of our people. But not only health of the body but also health of the mind. We are proud of being a very old democracy, and this is one of our most famous characteristics in the world. We must defend this against all attempts, whether in our own land or abroad, to confirm this heroic principle. If we read that congressman Tom Feeney misused NASA funds to manipulate elections by changing the results of voting machines, this shows us an insane mind. We are for free elections all over the world, free also from any kind of manipulation. This freedom is very important. Everybody may have his own body and mind, and if somebody likes a breast augmentation then he or she might have done it on his or her own account. In Germany everybody also has to pay for Fettabsaugung privately.
